When I first saw the Mickey Mouse Monopoly documentary I was shocked. There are so many words to describe the way I felt but shocked describes it best. I never knew these things about Disney. Because when you’re a kid you don’t really think of things that way. When you’re a kid,you don’t watch Fantasia and look at the femininity of the animals. But it’s kind of programmed in your head. They give you this image that women are supposed to have big boobs a super skinny waist and curvy hips. When in actuality most women aren’t built that way. So in return you have little girls who grow up believing that is the way they’re supposed to look. And end up having low self esteem and feel that they’re not good enough.

I have always known that the media influences us but I didn’t know to what extent.

It’s kind of amazing how Disney has so much control over the television networks but at the same time it’s sad. It’s like you don’t have a mind of your own because there’s someone behind the scenes control what you’re allowed to see and what you’re not allowed to see, when you’re allowed to see it. They have control over publishing too. It’s ridiculous. In a sense it’s kind of like they’re slowly but surely taking away our rights.

No corporation should be allowed to have that much control over what we’re exposed to.

Here is my 2 Page Layout

So we had to do a book cover I was getting really frustrated with my first one so I ended up settling on this one…I played with the layers quite a bit. And this is what I came up with.

Well today we are supposed to complete an analysis of a book or a magazine. Basically just describe what type of font, font size, layout,theme etc.

The name of the book that I did an analysis on was Photomontage by Dawn Ades . The cover is a black and white photo of a two hands with eyes on them in front of a building. I cant tell the exact size of the font on the cover but it’s pretty big

The font on the inside is basically 12 font Times New Roman. The paragraph layout is basic two page length colums on each side of the page.Between those, are paragraphs that are half page length. That layout basically continues throughout the rest of the book.

Wow…um because I’m blogging impaired I’ll just tell you my assignment that I’ll be working on in my spare time. I plan on experimenting with nimation a bit. I wanted to become familiar with it because it was kind of touch and go last year. And I felt the need to try something new rather than perfect something old. Right now I haven’t decided on exactly what the project is but I will know by tonight.
